Mr. Dinesh Prasain, the outgoing chairperson of COCAP awarded the Best Abstract Award: 2006

Dinesh Prasain, the outgoing Chairperson of Collective Campaign for Peace (COCAP) has been awarded the Best Abstract Award 2006 by Jawaharlal Nehru University (JNU), India for his outstanding working paper on Theoretical Framework for Social Movement. The award was given by the All India Sociological Congress. Dinesh Prasain is currently pursuing Ph D degree in the Faculty of Sociology and Anthropology and is the first Nepali to be honored with the award.
 
He was given the award on the final day of the Indian Sociological Society’s four day annual conference in Chennai on Tuesday, 2 Jan 07 amid a grand function.
 
He was felicitated by Michel Burawoi, vice chairman of International Socialists Society. The award is given to young students of sociology who are below 35 years of age. The conference was attended by 1000 professors and researchers form more than 50 university.
