The Project Agreement between the Social Welfare Council (SWC), KURVE Wustrow Germany and COCAP was signed on 18th November 2009 in the office of the SWC in Lazimpat, Kathmandu. The General Agreement between KURVE Wustrow and the SWC was signed one year prior in November 2008.
KURVE Wustrow – Center for Training and Networking in Nonviolent Action is an independent agency granting funds through the Civil Peace Service Program financed by the German Federal Ministry for Economic Cooperation and Development (BMZ). The cooperation project with COCAP as executing agency is named “Promotion of Human Rights Networks”. Its general objective is to contribute to the peace-building process in Nepal by strengthening the capacity of COCAP staff, members and volunteers in non-violent conflict transformation and human rights.
Training initiatives in the field of conflict transformation and non-violent action have been planned and prioritized for the year 2010 and will be carried out for COCAP staff, members and volunteers in the National Secretariat as well as the Regional Secretariats. Along with these trainings, the project will also focus on other activities such as conducting campaigns and discussion series in order to advocate and lobby for human rights and to promote the culture of non-violence and peace-building.
