COCAP believes that social security is one of the prime factors contributing to the conflict mitigation and peace-building in the country. Therefore, for three years, COCAP has campaigned to raise awareness about it and create pressure to the policy makers to formulate policy and programs on social security/protection. It will continue to carry out its activities through Regional Conferences, interactions and discussions on social security/protection in the future. For the next three years, COCAP will be focusing its activities for the policy advocacy on Social Security in Nepal. A comprehensive research will be carried out in 15 different districts of Nepal to gather information on the existing social security policies and their implications. On the basis of the research, COCAP will provide significant input for a comprehensive social protection policy to address all the communities and peoples of Nepal. COCAP has been also coordinating the Social Protection Network, which is comprised of 11 organizations including Save the Children.
